To paraphrase the great Henry David Thoreau, the 19th Century author, poet, philosopher, etc. from his “Journal” at Walden Pond, “As for the complex ways of ‘swinging’, I love them not…”
How many “swing thoughts” are swirling in your head when you’re out on the course? Five, 6, 7? NEVER HAVE MORE THAN 1 (possibly 2). Your goal is to get beyond mechanics to a swing that’s second nature. That won’t happen if you have a list of “swing thoughts” a mile long. Practice one, maybe two at a time. You’ll be amazed how quickly your swing will become “second nature.”
