While the "foot wedge" might be the fastest way to speed up play, there is another way, within the rules of the game, to get out of trouble. When a tree stands between you and your intended target (like the green), forget the "miracle shot," as in over the tree(s). Go low. Accept the fact you may add a stroke to your score. Playing safe is usually playing smart.
