Mickelson shoots a 60 yesterday, almost a 59, WOW. Phil’s a Mirror Image guy as he’s a natural right hander that plays lefty. He learned golf by watching his dad who was right handed so the Mirror Image approach sure works! No easier way to learn the golf swing than by watching it in a mirror.
Love him or hate him, Tiger Woods is great for golf and chalked up his 75th victory on the PGA Tour. TV ratings go way up when he’s in the hunt and more golfers talk about the tournament when he’s in contention for sure. Only Sam Snead has more victories so Tiger’s on the prowl for that record this year. His short game was remarkable the first few day and his long game left him on the last day. Funny seeing him hit some drives over 50 yards off line. My Mirror Image students ask me nearly every day what I think of his swing lately. If I had to analyze it I’d say that he’s still too flat at the top of his swing. I loved his arms and club position of his club when he won his first Masters in 1997. They were higher and gave him room to drop down more during the downswing. I also don’t think he gets his head and body behind the ball far enough when he’s a the top which causes him to either block the ball or flip right at impact and then he gets the hook. He’ll work it out and I’ll bet he wins a major this year.
Blog us your own thoughts about his game, we love hearing from you!
