The Masters is a test of many things in golf. A booming drive off the tee isn't one of them. Putting is. Augusta National is truly a shot maker's course on the way to the green, then there are those glass-like greens. Many a great player has fallen apart when it came to their putting game at The Masters.
My mentor, Ken Venturi, played some of the best golf of his professional career at The Masters, coming close to a green jacket but never getting to wear it. He knew the heartbreak those greens could cause. So when you watch this weekend, check out the extraordinary talent out there as they somehow sink those impossible putts.
And remember Mr. Palmer and Mr. Venturi, especially this year, at Augusta National.
